1.The forwarding proxy server is located between the client and the external network. It evaluates an outbound request and acts on it before relaying it to an external resource.
Most proxy services you may encounter are forward proxies. Virtual private networks and Web content filters are examples of forward proxies.
2. The reverse proxy server is located between the network and multiple internal resources. A large web site may have dozens of servers working together to service requests from a single domain. To achieve this, the client request is resolved to a machine that acts as a load balancer. The load balancer then proxies the traffic back to the individual servers.
